What background fabrics do you use? Plain colors or batiks? Light or dark?

I use "white on white" or "tan on white" for my background fabrics. They have a little color texture but never take away from the fabric I am appliquéing with. I do love the look of a black background, but these old eyes have difficulty working with it.

Hi Cindy - I agree with you about black fabric - my old eye's just cant handle it any more. I also usually use tan on tan or white on white for my backgound. I also love to you muslin as a backgound fabric. Arlene from Sarasota
