    Somerset patchwork is made by folding fabric squares or rectangles and sewing them on to a foundation fabric forming a star pattern.

  • Class QC010 - Learn to Fabric Paint - Vicki Johnson
    Learn to fabric paint while doing a flowering apple tree. Several techniques to use fabric paint to create landscapes will be presented in this class. Using a pattern of a flowering apple tree you will make a small painting to use in a quilt, garment, wall hanging or other small project. Instruction for using fabric paint in each procedure will be given along with a general description of the type of fabric paint used. Everyone should have a finished 9” x 9” painting at the end of class.

    Learn an effective method for making your own bias tape; with your choice of fabric, your sewing machine and bias bars. Take the first steps in learning how to draw Celtic designs by using Scarlett's new technique for creating knots - the Magic Key series. This class also shows how to hand appliqué for the right or left handed. For the beginner, but with optional suggestions for the intermediate and advanced, who may be interested in learning what can be done with designing your own Celtic knotwork.

  • Class QC022 - Nine Patch Kameleon - Eldrid Røyset Førde
    In this class you will learn the Kameleon Quilt® technique of sewing three dimensional curved triangles in between the blocks, and between blocks and borders. The inset curved triangles which can be flipped over and buttoned down to either side, will make for a versatile design with lots of possible looks, - you can practically have a new look to the quilt every day.

  • Class QC023 - Your First Quilt - Maria Hrabovsky
    If you have never made a quilt, this class is for you. It will take you step by step from the tools and fabrics you will need right through to a finished, labelled, machine-quilted, small quilt. Students will choose the size of quilt they wish to make: doll quilt, wall hanging, crib quilt, baby quilt, or child size. Each student’s quilt will be different from the others. The only prerequisite for this class is knowing how to use your sewing machine.

  • Class QC027 - Your Second Quilt: A Quilt for All Seasons - Maria Hrabovsky
    If you have taken Your First Quilt and are ready to learn more, this class is for you. If you are a beginner who has already made a basic quilt, this class is for you, too. It will teach you how to make HSTs - Half Square Triangles - one of the most used components in making up quilt blocks. Using only HSTs, dozens of quilt patterns can be made. The quilt pattern for this set of lessons can be used repeatedly and look completely different each time. How to change it to make future quilts is a part of this set of lessons.

  • Class QC031 - Confused Wells - Cinzia White
    Fed up with all of those leftover scraps lying around… too small for anything really but too big to throw out. Well Confused Wells is your answer. Made using strips and quick piecing techniques this is the perfect solution. In fact the more scraps the better. Any scrap bigger than 1in by 9in is usable. Confused Wells is a generous 56in x 72in but it is easy to change the final size to suit your needs and your scraps.

    Have extra fun this Halloween with a wall hanging that appears to glow in the dark and a cute, unique set of Boo Bags for children to take trick-or-treating or for you to take along when shopping during October. Imagine the comments and reactions you’ll receive! Fusible appliqué is the method we’ll be using. Have fun with plaids or use traditional colours for your assortment of pumpkins, ghosts, leaves and other spooky elements in this quilt!

  • Class QC033 - Folded Fabric Blocks Bag - Eldrid Røyset Førde
    In this class you will learn how to make two traditional patchwork block patterns, - not by regular sewing, but by just folding fabric pieces and placing them on top of each other. The blocks will then be used to decorate a bag.
